Kisa Alumni | Kisa Program Impact | 19th February 2026
Judith’s journey is a clear example of how the right guidance, environment, and opportunities can transform a young person’s life. She is a proud Kisa alumna, a graduate of the class of 2023 and a former student of Arusha Girls High School. When she first joined the Kisa Program, she was like many other students, full of potential, but still uncertain about her path despite having big dreams for her future. Through the two-year Kisa leadership program, the structured sessions, activities, and curriculum experiences played an important role in shaping her growth and the leader she has become today. Judith participated in the Kisa Program for two years, and throughout this journey, she witnessed tremendous growth in herself. Every session she attended shaped her into a better version of herself. Today, she is a university student at the University of Dar es Salaam pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Event Planning.
Looking back, Judith recalls how the career sessions and Career Day activities played a significant role in helping her pursue the field she is passionate about. They opened her eyes to possibilities she had never considered before. For the first time, she was able to connect her passions with real opportunities. Listening to professionals share their journeys made her dreams feel valid and achievable, and she came to understand that success is built step by step. During Career Day, Judith’s exhibition focused on entrepreneurship and women in business, and today she is pursuing a degree that aligns with her interests and aspirations.
Standing in front of others and presenting about her career was once a challenge for her, but it became a turning point in her journey. That experience gave her confidence that no one can take away, and it continues to help her in university during presentations, workshops, and leadership opportunities.

Now that she is pursuing a career she is passionate about, the confidence that she gained from the Kisa Program her confidence has enabled her to put what she is learning into practice. She coordinates multiple events, works with teams, manages responsibilities, and brings ideas to life without fear. One of her proudest moments has been being part of organizing Mr. and Miss University of Dar es Salaam, an experience that demanded creativity, leadership, and confidence. She believed she could do it, and she did. In the end, she was recognized and appreciated for her contribution and awarded a certificate of appreciation.

Moreover, Judith is a co-founder of Uni-Ladies Gala, an annual event that celebrates and recognizes female students in higher learning institutions at Daresalaam in categories such as entrepreneurship, academics, leadership, and innovation inspiring others to pursue excellence. Last year, the event brought together participants from six universities and over 800 attendees. As both a co-founder and planner, Judith is using her leadership and event management skills to create opportunities that empower and inspire other young women.
Now that Judith is actively coordinating events and taking on leadership responsibilities, she approaches every opportunity with courage and determination. She no longer hesitates to take initiative or step into leadership roles. Whenever she encounters demanding situations, especially while coordinating events, she often reflects on the Two Days Challenge projects she participated in as a Kisa Scholar. Those experiences did not only challenge her, they transformed her.
Through the Two Days Challenge, where Kisa Scholars identified community challenges and developed solutions within two days, Judith learned that situations can be intense, uncomfortable, and even a little scary, but in the end they are empowering. The experience pushed her out of her comfort zone and revealed a version of herself she had never fully known, a strong, capable, and resilient young woman. Today, those experiences continue to give her the energy, confidence, and courage to make things happen and embrace life as a leader.
Beyond leadership and career development, Judith also appreciates the health sessions she received through the Kisa Program, lessons that continue to influence her daily life. Through these sessions, she learned that taking care of herself is not a luxury but a necessity. She came to understand that her well-being matters and that she deserves to thrive, not just survive. She highly values these lessons and intentionally prioritizes her well-being, knowing that taking care of herself allows her to continue pursuing her goals and responsibilities.
Judith also understands the silent power of friendship and deeply appreciates her friend Leah Moses, who was also a Kisa scholar from Arusha Girls High School. Although they graduated, their friendship has remained strong. For Judith, teamwork goes beyond achieving goals together; it also means supporting one another, showing up in difficult moments, and celebrating each other’s successes. These are values she and Leah learned as Kisa scholars, and they continue to strengthen their friendship today. She shared, “True friends do not just share laughter, they show up in difficult moments, offering support, understanding, and encouragement. They remind us of who we are when we feel lost, celebrate our wins as if they were their own, and stand beside us when things don’t go as planned.” This is how she describes her friendship with Leah Moses, who continues to support her not only with ideas but also with her presence “The Joy of Friendship.”

There are moments in life that quietly shape who we become. The small moments we experience today often become the foundation of who we are tomorrow. For Judith, joining the Kisa Program through GLAMI was one of those moments. Her journey is still unfolding, but one thing is certain, she is no longer the same person she was when she started. She is stronger, more confident, and ready to make an impact.
Kisa did not just prepare her for school; it prepared her for life. It taught her to believe in herself, to speak up, to lead, and to keep pushing even when things feel difficult. The lessons she learned have become part of who she is today. Because of this journey, she is not just pursuing a degree, but building a future with purpose. “Kisa has been a wonderful experience for me, and this can be seen in how I live my life now, with courage and commitment in everything I do.” – Judith
